Harder Kulm is an absolute must when visiting Interlaken. With the Swiss Travel Pass, you get half price on the funicular — great value for what is genuinely one of Switzerland’s most breathtaking viewpoints. The panorama of snow-capped peaks and the twin lakes of Thun and Brienz is stunning at any time of day, but staying for sunset takes it to another level entirely. I had a light dinner at the mountaintop restaurant while watching the alpenglow — a perfect evening. Do stay for the last tram down to make the most of it. It gets crowded, but the view more than makes up for it. Book it, go once, remember it forever.

Amazing View of Interlaken. I was skeptical initially, but stunned by the view. Spent 3 to 4 hours here. Excellent picnic spot and great hiking trails.

After reaching Interlaken in the afternoon and checking in to our hotel, we booked the tickets for Harder Kulm through Klook. We also had the Swiss travel pass which gave us 50% off on this experience. The ride to the top in the furnicular is a great experience as the tracks are vintage and you’re climbing a steep incline. We did have to wait for about an hour in the queue but the views from the top are breathtakingly beautiful with the city in between and 2 lakes on each side. There’s also a restaurant and everyone seemed to be having cheese fondue but we didn’t order anything.

I went to the queue at 6pm, waited for more than an hour to go up, the scenery above was super beautiful, the visibility was very high, I could see the Maiden Peak, and the town under the mountain and two lakes, indescribable excitement! ! ! Highly recommended! ! ! Even if the wait was long to see, the downhill line was almost an hour in line. It is recommended to avoid going at dusk.
