Review Boat Ride Ticket and Release Lantern at Hoai river in Hoi An

Everything went as planned – we were met at the specified address, led to the boat, and my companion and I were seated. The boatman helped us put on life jackets and light our lanterns, and then he took us on a 20-25 minute ride along the river, which was full of colorful lights ❤️🏮 This is definitely one of our best memories of Hoi An, along with the lantern-making workshop ❤️

Releasing the lantern was a beautiful moment and made the experience feel special. The boat operator was friendly and even helped take photos for us. The night views of the old town and all the glowing lanterns around the river were stunning.
Booking through Klook was very convenient and the meeting point was easy to find. There might be a long queue during weekend but nevertheless if you’re visiting Hoi An, this is definitely a must-try activity for the atmosphere and photos! ✨🏮🚣‍♂️
(Tip: Go after sunset so you can fully enjoy the lanterns lighting up the river.)

Took a boat ride along the Hoi An River (Thu Bồn River area) and overall it’s a simple but very atmospheric experience, especially in the evening when the lanterns reflect on the water. Try to locate the area to exchange for your tickets through the page itself. There will be huge crowds, and it could be quite hard. The ride itself is short (usually around 15–30 minutes depending on the route), but the highlight is releasing floating lanterns on the river, which creates a very photogenic and peaceful moment. Our boatman helped us to take amazing photos which were so dreamy!

The boat ride and lantern release in Hoi An was honestly amazing. I’d definitely recommend going around 5:30 PM, you get to see the sunset while you're on the river, and then the lanterns start to glow as it gets darker. It’s the best of both worlds for photos. Our boat guide took some great pictures of us. He also made sure we had a great view of the Old Town, which looked beautiful all lit up. If you're in Hoi An, this is one of those things you really shouldn’t miss. It was peaceful, fun, and just a one of a kind experience.

experience: You won’t be confused and won’t be flocked by so many people becuase they have a buddy boat already waiting for you, they gave us a welcome cold tea drink and the boat driver is very lovely took a pic of us, even though its a short time only (15-20mins) we enjoyed our momen. I really recommend booking this!!!

It was actually an on the spot booking for us, location was easily located inside Hoian Ancient Town, seamless service and we really enjoyed the night and lighted views of the boat ride, we lighted up our paper lanterns and made our wishes! Definitely a great experience when you go to Hoi An!

Boat ride is short but you will see a lot of places with bright ligths near rhe riverbank. A lantern is included in the ticket and the boatman will light it for you. Our ticket includes a cup of tea and lantern. The area around the bridge is also crowded, it will be better if you schedule your boat ride after 8pm for lesser crowd.

very convenient to redeem the ticket by checking it out at the assembling point. the staff gave us drinks and candles 水燈. after that, we were instructed to line up and follow another staff to go nearby the river. Then, we took on a boat and wore a life jacket. the boat took around 20 minutes I guess (didn’t count it). beautiful view and special experience:) cool

This is a must and a great experience when you visit Hoi An! It’s feels magical! There’s a queue but it’s very fast since there’s a lot of boat. We came during peak summer so it’s super hot so I recommend to go here during cold season :)

Beautiful scenery, gentle staff. The boatman also helped us with life jackets for safety and showed us the best spots for photos. The river had a slight odor before we started, in the shallow part. I recommend going between 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM to get beautiful photos of the boats lighting up. Any later, it will be quite dark for photos and very crowded.
