Review Kampong Phluk Floating Village Tour

What a fabulous tour, led by Meng and our driver James Bond ! my husband and i thoroughly enjoyed this tour, we weren’t sure what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. We were collected by mini bus and driven to the boat, we then explored the floating village, even though it was the dry/winter season you could see where the water rose too and imagine the village as it would be in the rainy season. We then walked around the village seeing how they lived, the schools and shops etc. Then back on the boat to our next stop where we took canoes which were paddled by women through the mangroves. we then stopped at a floating restaurant/bar to watch the sun starting to set. What an amazing tour thank you to Meng 5 stars from us, would definitely recommend this trip, great contrast to th temples of Angkor Wat.

It was a nice tour to visit Kampong Phluk during dry season as we get the privilege of entering and seeing the village on foot. We were told that the only possible way to visit the village is by boat during the wet season as everything will be flooded. The boat ride to Tonle Sap was also an enjoyable one. Meng (our guide) and Handsome (driver) were fantastic in managing the group. Meng was very kind and funny as well. The information that he delivered about the lives in the floating village was really eye-opening.

Thanks to our friendly guide Mr Happy Tear and Driver Mr James Bond for taking good care of us on this memorable trip. was fascinating to see the floating village lifestyle during the dry season, houses on stilts are amazing and it shows how adaptable we as humans can be. sunset on the lake was beautiful and you can even order croc or snake at the restaurant on a lake (big bottles of Cambodia are a must!)

It was a wonderful experience visiting Kampong Phluk during the dry season, as we had the unique opportunity to walk through the village on foot. We were informed that during the wet season, the only way to visit the village is by boat since the entire area becomes flooded, which made this experience even more special. The boat ride to Tonle Sap was also very enjoyable and offered beautiful views along the way . Our guide, Meng, and the driver were fantastic in managing the group. Meng was especially kind, humorous, and engaging throughout the tour. The information he shared about life in the floating village was truly eye opening and gave us a deeper understanding of the local community. What stood out most was his warm personality, he even gave sweets to the children in the village, showing his genuine kindness. He treated us like family and went the extra mile to take photos for us, making the experience even more memorable. I would definitely recommend Meng and his team for anyone.

We enjoyed a comfortable breeze on the boat’s open deck while exploring the floating village, paddled through the mangroves by canoe, and stopped by a shop to buy souvenirs and have a light snack — it was such a full and satisfying tour.
I highly recommend this tour if you want something other than temple visits!

Absolutely fantastic! This was the best tour I've ever been on! Our guide, Jack, made the entire trip even better with his perfect explanations and humorous conversation. Everything was perfect, from the bus hotel shuttle to the chartered boat in the middle of the vast lake to watch the sunset! On-site, you can purchase an optional boat ride provided by local residents. Slowly paddle through the aquatic forests and villages, the scenery along the way is incredibly beautiful, highly recommend adding this on! The pace of the trip was perfect, a must-do!

We had an amazing time! Our guide Jack and our driver Michael looked after us so well. They were both funny, smart and very knowledgable about the trip. They were so proud to show their culture and Cambodian life. We are forever and always.. Jack's family 😄 Bus was amazing, boat ride amazing and mangrove canoe - so peaceful and lovely, with free cold water and wet wipes to cool down. Cultural immersement +++ local people and kids were so friendly and happy to interact with travellers. We enjoyed every minute of it. Highly recommended if you are in Siam Reap!

We had an absolutely amazing time exploring the floating villages of Siem Reap with Captain Jack and Mr. Handsome, our driver! Jack was not only incredibly informative but also super funny, keeping us entertained the entire time.

He shared so much insight about the people who live in the floating villages, their history, and how they’ve adapted to life on the water. His passion for Cambodian culture really came through, and his storytelling made everything come alive.

Our guide Meng was very informative. He explained every intricate detail about the village, people and their lifestyle. The ride was very comfortable except the slightly bumpy roads towards the end. Boat ride was fantastic with the breathtaking sunset view . Driver knew his way about this vehicle and was very responsible.

My parents came and visit us in Siem Reap so I wanted to make some special experiences with them. AND this is an amazing and perfect tour! Jack, the tour guide, contacted me in advance and picked us up on time. He speaks very good English with humor and made our tour so special. His information provided to us helps us understand the history, culture of Cambodia. You may think you can go by yourself but it strongly recommend to join this tour. It’s easy and comfortable Jack took care of everything!!! We took a small boat tour as optional ($5.5 per person). The small boat takes you to mangrove forest and it was really relaxing and chill time. This tour is really really amazing and definitely worthy. Jack, tour guide, was the key to make our tour so fulfilled and satisfied. Thank you so much!!!!!
