The scenery at Fansipan is truly spectacular and well worth a visit! The transportation here is a bit similar to Ba Na Hills; you first take a mountain train, then transfer to a cable car to ascend the mountain. The difference is that Fansipan also has a third section, a small summit train, which takes you directly to near the peak. If you're feeling energetic, you can also choose to walk up the stairs, enjoying the scenery from different angles along the way. I originally thought it would be very cold on the mountain, but the temperature only noticeably drops once you get closer to the summit. I recommend carrying a light jacket with you. The weather on the mountain changes quickly. We were very lucky this time to have bright sunshine and clear blue skies, allowing us to fully see the Great Buddha, Guanyin, and the surrounding landscape without being obscured by clouds. Ba Na Hills is more like a fairytale theme park suitable for families, with many scenic setups and amusement rides. Fansipan, on the other hand, offers a completely different experience, focusing on natural landscapes, mountain views, and religious architecture. It feels much more expansive, quiet, and awe-inspiring. Standing high up and looking out, the layers of mountains stretch before you, truly as beautiful as a painting. The experience of seeing it in person is even more magnificent than in photos. Since Sapa is a bit remote, many places there generally don't accept credit cards, so it's advisable to prepare enough Vietnamese Dong in advance. You can also purchase Fansipan tickets on Klook beforehand. The price is similar to buying them on-site, but pre-booking allows you to complete the reservation in advance, eliminating the need to figure out ticket types or queue for tickets upon arrival, which is much more convenient for independent travelers. If you come to Sapa, I highly recommend dedicating half a day to a full day to visit Fansipan. As long as the weather is good, the views you'll see will truly make you feel that the long journey to Sapa was completely worth it!

Fansipan — a must-must visit in Sapa! 🏔️☁️

It honestly feels like a completely different world built on top of a mountain. There’s quite a lot of walking involved, but every step is worth it because the views are absolutely beautiful.

I took the round trip from Sun Plaza, then the round-trip cable car + one-way monorail to the top. I absolutely loved how beautiful this place is, clouds all around, breathtaking views everywhere, and so many beautiful spots to stop and enjoy. ❤️

Definitely come early so you can take your time and experience everything peacefully without rushing. And if you’re okay with climbing down stairs, you can walk back towards the cable-car station instead of taking the monorail again, there are quite a lot of steps, but it’s a beautiful walk.

100% worth visiting when you’re in Sapa! ✨

I went there on a Tuesday and there was no waiting for the monorail. The ride was nice. You need to climb uphill to reach the cable car station or you can rent a horse. The cable car a queue and it took me 15-20 mins to get in. The views from the cabin were so nice! The weather changed as soon as you come out of the enclosed building. Carry a jacket, beanie and gloves. It can be freezing up there. Fortunately, I. came prepared. The visibility dropped after just couple of minutes. I could only see a glimpse of the Buddha statue and then it was shrouded in clouds/fog. The funnicular queue takes time but saved a lot of hassle. It can be crowded on the peak, be patient for your turn for the photo. I spent almost 3.5 hrs altogether. It was overall a hasslefree experience. Plan your trip as early as possible, as I could see the crowd building at all stops as I was going down.

We arrived to Mount Fansipan on a beautiful and sunny day. The views were gorgeous and a definitely a highlight of our Vietnam trip. We decided to purchase a ticket package that included an extra ride up to the summit, which was worth it. After reaching the top, we slowly worked our way walking down to see the various buddhas and structures on the mountain. I would recommend going as early as one can to avoid the tour crowds.

Visiting Fansipan in Sa Pa was truly an unforgettable experience. The journey to the “Roof of Indochina” itself is an adventure. We started with the scenic monorail ride through the mountains, which offered breathtaking views of lush valleys and misty peaks. The transition to the Fansipan Cable Car was spectacular. Gliding above the clouds while surrounded by dramatic mountain landscapes felt magical and peaceful at the same time.

After the cable car, the short tram ride and steps leading to the summit added a sense of excitement and accomplishment. Reaching the top and seeing the massive Buddha statue and the panoramic views across the mountains made the entire journey worth it. The atmosphere at the summit is spiritual and awe inspiring.

Free buffet at Van Sam Restaurant, where the food options were immense. From local Vietnamese dishes to comforting warm meals perfect for the cool mountain. Overall, entire Fansipan experience was beautifully organized and absolutely memorable.

Walking on clouds, Fansipan in Sapa conquered! ☁️
I finally stood on the summit of Fansipan, at an elevation of 3,143m! The weather seemed to change dozens of times during the ascent. One moment it was clear, then suddenly fog rolled in, and the thrill of the clouds parting again to reveal the landscape below was truly unforgettable. It was a day spent experiencing the mystery of nature with every fiber of my being. The highlight of my Sapa trip was definitely Fansipan 🏔️✨

Booked a combo ticket for Sun World Fansipan, including round-trip monorail and cable car rides, plus a one-way funicular ride to Fansipan Peak. The whole process was really convenient, as we could simply scan the QR codes at each boarding point without having to exchange them for physical tickets. Super easy and hassle-free!

Must do activity in sa pa. we got the clear views from sky. from monorail to cable car every experience is top notch. even the buffet we had was great and was in huge varities. The activities in the fansipan area was great. we couldnt stop taking taking pic from starting to end. we also booked one way monorail to go up the fansipan which was worth every penny. If u book it via klook u dnt have to stay in line for long just show ur voucher’s qr code everywhere and get the entry easily. If its foggy u might have the bad day but the day we visited the sky was all clear and visible.

You absolutely have to go. Even if it looks like a bad day with a lot of fog, it clears up once you get to the top. It's a must-do, totally worth the price. What we did was, instead of taking the lower funicular which would have been about 16 euros for two, we took a Grab for 1.40 for two. The cable car and the other funicular at the very top cost us around 34 euros, give or take. It's beautiful and very much worth it.

Buying ticket online was less hassle. They only had to scan the qr code and we were able to take the monorail, cable car and funicular. We were lucky to go there on a sunday with good weather so we wer eable to enjoy Fansipan without the fog and blurry views.
