Review Al Khayma Camp Premium Desert Safari - Morning, Evening & Overnight

Experienced the Premium Evening Desert Safari at Al Khayma was truly one of the highlights of my Dubai trip. The journey started with a smooth hotel pickup in a comfortable 4x4 vehicle, followed by an exciting dune bashing session in the red desert—it was thrilling and so much fun. Sandboarding and photo stops in the golden dunes made the experience even more memorable. The Al Khayma camp itself was beautifully set up and gave a very authentic Arabian vibe. We were welcomed with traditional Arabic coffee and dates, and there were plenty of activities like camel rides, henna painting, and shisha. The highlight was definitely the evening atmosphere with live performances like Tanoura dance and fire shows, along with a delicious BBQ buffet dinner. Watching the sunset in the desert and ending the night under the stars made the entire experience magical. Booking through Klook made the process extremely smooth and convenient. from pickup to the camp experience—was well organized.

I could feel the thoughtfulness even before the trip, from the pre-trip notifications. After getting into the car, I immediately felt a genuine and considerate warmth. First, he offered me water and explained that we were going to pick up other participants. Along the way, he gave me a city tour, which perfectly made up for my wish to explore the city more, as I didn't have extra time this trip. Since I was a solo female traveler, he took special care of me throughout the journey, even reserving the front seat for me in the car, which made me feel very comfortable the entire time.
During the 4x4 activity, I couldn't keep up with the other participants, so I stayed in the open plain to play by myself. Soon, the guide appeared and took me to a simpler terrain to play, helped me take photos, and even showed off some driving skills. He also took me dune bashing (which was really tiring, haha!). But the guide truly went out of his way to take care of me, prioritizing my feelings, which I found incredibly touching!
The evening meal and activities were also wonderful, and I really enjoyed chatting with my fellow travelers!
On the way back, since I was the last drop-off point, after everyone else had gotten off, he specifically changed the music to Chinese songs that I was familiar with. This was a delightful surprise, and I sang along in the passenger seat all the way back to my accommodation. The experience of participating in this activity was excellent. I could tell that the guide genuinely loves his job and is sincerely kind to everyone. I highly recommend coming to experience this; it's perfect even if you're traveling alone!

Highlights included an exhilarating ATV ride, a unique photo with a falcon, thrilling sand bashing and sand boarding, a delicious dinner buffet, and spectacular evening shows like the fire and horse show. Stargazing under the desert sky and spending the night in a comfortable air-conditioned tent made the experience even more special, with a peaceful camel ride in the morning after as the perfect finale. Our guide, Imran, was attentive, friendly, and an excellent driver, ensuring our safety and enjoyment throughout. Highly recommend this extraordinary adventure—- worth it!

We had the most incredible day, all thanks to our amazing guide, Arshad. From the moment he picked us up, he made us feel completely taken care of — professional, friendly, and genuinely helpful throughout the entire experience.
He went above and beyond, always checking in to see if we needed anything, offering water, answering our questions with patience, and even capturing stunning photos of us in the sand dunes. It truly felt like he was personally dedicated to making our day unforgettable.
The tour itself was magical — we kicked off with an adrenaline-pumping ATV ride followed by dune bashing, which was the absolute highlight for my partner. After that, Arshad drove us to a desert camp where we enjoyed a delicious BBQ buffet, watched an incredible fire show, sampled local delicacies, met Arabian horses, rode camels, and even got to feed them.
Arshad made the entire day feel effortless and special. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide or experience.

Online reviews for desert dune bashing are very polarized, but today's experience was excellent. Our guide, Tariq, picked me up from the hotel and drove to the ATV car camp (this is an optional activity - AED 180 for 30 mins). We didn't participate in that, so the guide drove us to the desert dune bashing and sandboarding area. The dune bashing was a bit bumpy, so consider taking motion sickness pills if needed. Sandboarding was a lot of fun. After sandboarding, the guide helped us take photos. Then he drove us to Alkhayma Camp, where we rode camels, took photos with a falcon, and enjoyed welcome snacks and drinks, as well as henna hand painting and shisha. All of these activities were included. I opted for the regular BBQ dinner, and the food quality was better than I expected - quite delicious, so no need to worry. The final fire dance performance was fantastic. After it ended, the guide drove us back to the hotel. Overall, I was very satisfied with the day trip. I even made friends with the two other people in my group! 😄

It was a great time. In fact, this is my second time doing it! I recommend it to everyone: you can ride ATVs or buggies through the desert, go jeeping, and even ride camels. Spending a night in the desert is a unique experience in itself.

Our guide, Waqar (he goes by Vicky too), was really kind and warm. He was very prepared with lots of cold bottled water for us and taught us a little bit about Dubai. Bonus points for his superb driving and Arabic music playlist (with Tokyo Drift) which he played to set the mood while we were dune bashing. Lastly, the camp at Al Marmoom was relaxing and had many activities available for different guests (camel rides, henna tattoo, coffee and tea, sunset watching, stargazing with telescopes, shiesha). The buffet food (local dishes) was really delicious as well, and unlimited cold drinks were available too. We’re grateful all of these were included in the package and we didn’t need to shell out any more than we paid on Klook (note: we didn’t go for the ATV/buggy rides nor buy souvenirs which would need extra payment).

What an absolutely unforgettable desert adventure! From the moment we arrived, the energy was already amazing. We kicked things off by riding the bikes across the sand, and it was such a fun way to start the day. The evening attractions were super entertaining and kept the excitement going. But without a doubt, the highlight of the whole experience was dune bashing with Adeel Awan. His driving skills, sense of humor, and the way he handled every turn made the ride insanely exciting—we were laughing, shouting, and enjoying every single second. The food was also a huge plus, with so many delicious Arabic and Moroccan dishes that made the dinner feel special. And ending the night with smooth shisha under the desert sky was the perfect final touch. Big shoutout to Al Khayma Camp and Klook for creating a day that was full of fun, adventure, and amazing memories. Highly recommended!
