Review Phillip Island Penguin Parade Ticket

We visited during the winter, specifically December, and it was very cold. I only brought a windbreaker, but I think a winter jacket would have been more sufficient. My child was freezing due to the wind on the beach. During the summer, you have to wait quite a while; the penguins only emerged after 9 PM. If you want to see the penguins up close, you have to walk through the pathway, where you'll see them returning to their homes. Overall, it was a very good experience. The gift shop offered a wide variety of items to purchase, as did the cafe. I recommend it for anyone. I didn't upgrade, but I think it was still worth it not to upgrade because I still got to see the penguins up close.

No need to exchange for physical tickets, super convenient 👍 Only independent travelers can stay until the very end. In Melbourne in August, you can see the penguins come ashore around 6 PM. The staff starts ushering people out around 7:10 PM, and we left the boardwalk at 7:15 PM. We also took a lot of pictures of penguins, and there were very few people at this time, it was really great 👍

Although I bought the three-park pass, I only went to the Koala Conservation Centre and the Penguin Parade. Watching the Penguin Parade in winter is really windy and cold, so remember to wear warm, windproof clothing. If you need to use the restroom or buy souvenirs, I highly recommend doing so before heading out onto the outdoor boardwalk, otherwise it will be very crowded after the event and you'll have to wait in line for a long time. In conclusion, although I stood for an hour and only saw about 20 penguins, the experience was quite special, and I would recommend it to those who are interested.

The premium ticket gives a birdseye view of the penguins as they make their way up the beach. We weren’t able to take photos after sunset, the guide supplied a QR code for us to scan to download professional photos and videos. The penguins were small and albeit hard to see at night. It would’ve been good to have some binoculars as they looked like rocks when they first came out of the ocean. Listen out for their ‘quacking’ noise as they group together. It is cold so bring a jacket. They make their way in scattered groups up the beach. It is a popular tourist hotspot so get there early to enjoy the best view.

So glad I chose the underground viewing platform! That night in early November, the temperature was in the single digits and it was raining, so being indoors out of the wind and rain was much more comfortable than being in the open-air stands. Although there was no heating indoors, it was already very good.

That night, the number of penguins returning home was over a thousand, and you could see them waddling past from a **very close distance** through the underground viewing windows, which was very cute! Remember, photography is prohibited after sunset, so please enjoy it with your heart.

The facilities inside the building are complete, with a restaurant and cafe to pass the time. There are two souvenir shops, the **one closer to the penguin entrance is larger**, with more product choices, so it is recommended to shop there.

Highly recommend this tour! If you want to check off Melbourne's attractions and get up close with cute animals in the shortest amount of time, this day tour is your best choice. The happiest moments were feeding kangaroos and seeing koalas walking at Moonlit Sanctuary. And at night, we saw the world's smallest penguins returning to their nests! Although the underground viewing platform tickets are more expensive, they are definitely worth it, as you don't have to brave the wind and rain in the open air (it's quite cold in winter, and the penguins came ashore 30 minutes later than expected).

we saw the penguin parade 15 years ago, and it's still an amazing experience this time. entry with klook booking was very easy. we started queuing 1 hour before view deck gates open, being among the first in the queue we got the best seats in penguin plus section. the penguins gathered before us to dry off and some were 10cm away from us. no photography at all after sunset but the official website provides photos that you can download. all the staff were friendly and helpful. the gift shops have many nice souvenirs. we went in late oct, we left the apartment at 3pm, arrived at the center at 5pm, viewing deck gates opened at 6.45pm, penguins came at 8.30pm, we were told we have 1h for penguin viewing, then the 1.5h drive back to melbourne, we reached the apartment at 11pm.

Redemption of the ticket was very easy and the ultimate tour was fantastic. We walked some distance to a private beach to watch the little penguins. We saw them come out of the the water to make their way back to their respective burrows. We also saw many wild wallabys on the way. The guide was also really friendly and answered all our questions. We were not allowed to take photos and use our phones because of the phones blue light. Overall it was a great experience.

This Phillip Island Penguin Parade tour was absolutely perfect, especially thanks to our guide, Mei! She not only provided professional and funny English commentary throughout the tour but, what moved us even more, was that she also served as our driver, diligently driving us back to Melbourne late at night, arriving after midnight. Even working so late, Mei maintained her smile and professionalism, and her enthusiasm is truly admirable. If you get Mei as your guide on this tour, you're really lucky!
