Review WOWPASS: Prepaid Card for Cashless Payment in Korea

easy to redeem from kiosk machine, comparing this wowpass with namae card, they both work very similarly, kiosks for wowpass is very easy to detect in Myeongdong station and myeongdong nine tree hotel lobby and Incheon airport, T money is usable by topping up via cash or credit card at the machine. it also accepts foreign currency and converts into korean won (minimum $50 sgd note), conversion rate is not the best but acceptable if you are short of korean won. lotsa cashback rebates if you purchase from their listed retail partners and you can do tax refune on the kiosk - which is better than namane card in some sense.

We were able to use the wowpass card for both transportation and food. I think it's the best option aside from T-Money coz this one is flexible and can do both. I just picked my physical card in the wowpass machine inside the Nice to CU Convenience Stores and was able to top up some cash also in the machine. it was hassle free. I was able to use the card in Busan-Seoul-Jeju so it was all worth it!

Using WOWPASS for the first time made my first trip to Korea very convenient. There was a machine at the hotel where I could scan the QR code to pick up the card, and I used this card to pay at convenience stores, restaurants, beauty stores, and cafes! 👍

Upon arriving at Incheon Airport Terminal 1, simply go to the CU convenience store machine at Gate 6 to pick up your card and top it up. It's very convenient, and your T-money card will also be topped up at the same time. Excellent!

Buying on Klook is cheaper than using the machine, and after purchasing, you can redeem and top up at the machine immediately, which is very convenient and easy to use. However, some stores in Jeju Island can't process Wowpass, but can use credit cards instead, which is a bit strange, so it's recommended to bring credit cards and cash with you.

Highly recommend getting the WOWPASS through Klook if traveling to South Korea. For the Jeju airport specifically, the machine was close to the exit after you get through customs, so it was very convenient and the Klook instructions are helpful. You can also watch a short video on YouTube if you need more help. The WOWPASS is super useful in SK, since it is accepted in many places. I could even use it in some restaurants I didn't expect to take cards. The ability to draw out the money loaded on the card was also reassuring, so you can get a good exchange rate and keep some emergency cash on you after you top-up the card.

I had an amazing trip in Korea with the top 4 most useful cards: 1. Climate card 2. Wowpass 3. discover seoul pass and 4. discover Busan pass. These are all the passses you need to have a memorable trip in South Korea. The booking of Klook Wowpass prepaid card was incredibly convenient and made cashless payments simple and stress-free throughout my travels. No need to line up in subways and look for terminals. With a wowpass card, I immediately uploaded my credit card details. it functions both as a T-money card and as a debit card. the debit function makes payments seamless since there is no need to figure out their conversion system or currency. The card was easy to get and top up, and it worked smoothly at shops, restaurants, cafes, and even for transportation. I loved not having to worry about carrying large amounts of cash or dealing with currency exchange. A must-have for anyone visiting Korea. Any left over money from the T-money, we used up in the CU stores at the airport.

Very convenient to use. You can use the card to pay for all sorts of purchases (dining, shopping, etc.). Since it also has Tmoney, you can also tap the card when using the metro and buses. If you’re arriving late, better to buy the card that can be claimed from CU store at Incheon airport. There’s only one wowpass machine at Terminal 1 and it only operates until 10:00pm. The machine resumes operation by 6:00am. When topping up your card using the machine, you can only use Korean currency. Upon getting your card and activating it, download the wowpass app and register your card. You can then top up using the app. You can use your credit card when topping up through the app. You can also top up your Tmoney using your card balance.

I used this for my first trip to South Korea. Before traveling, I only purchased the payment in Japan, and I was supposed to receive the WOWPASS card at the designated CU convenience store at Incheon International Airport Terminal 1 using the machine located there. I was worried about various things since I have zero Korean language skills, but thanks to the machine supporting Japanese and the staff who could speak Japanese assisting me, I was able to receive it smoothly. It seemed that street stalls only accept cash payments, but I had no problems using WOWPASS at Olive Young, Lotte Mart, convenience stores, Starbucks, local cafes, and pharmacies. When receiving the card at the machine in Incheon International Airport Terminal 1 and charging it immediately, please note that you can only charge with Korean Won (cash) or a credit card! I also considered using the Climate Companion Card, but since I mainly used the subway, the T-money charge after issuing the WOWPASS was sufficient for my needs.
