It’s really a very awesome and fantastic travel to the past, to read about the imperial history and understand the culture. We are glad that we bought the tickets earlier as you can’t get the tickets on the spot at all and there are many layers of checks before we can step into the palace.

The entrance process was smooth despite the long line, it actually move quite fast once they open the door to the Forbidden city. It was lovely, but quite a lot of walk even before reaching the entrance 😅

I originally tried to book tickets myself on WeChat but couldn't. Although it took a bit longer for the platform to confirm the time, being able to book tickets and have a professional guide explain everything was truly worth the price. 👍🏻 However, the Forbidden City is really vast, and there was a 15-minute break arranged near a restaurant and restroom. Make sure to eat a good breakfast in the morning. The tour normally ends at 12 PM, but due to crowd and traffic control in the area, it takes some time just to walk back to the subway station. The entrance and exit are different, and the exit offers various shuttle buses to other scenic spots, which is quite thoughtful. Overall, I highly recommend this tour, especially with the guide's extensive knowledge, which allowed us to fully understand every architectural feature and the stories behind the Forbidden City. Compared to just casually looking around on your own, I definitely recommend touring with a guide, and the guide will even tell you the best spots for photos. 📷

Today was a beautiful, sunny day, with temperatures around 24 degrees Celsius. Despite the heat, my family and I followed tour guide Song Song through the Forbidden City's central axis, the Eastern Six Palaces, and the Western Six Palaces. The entire tour lasted three hours, and listening to Teacher Song Song's stories and historical anecdotes was fascinating. We even found one of the only three remaining inscribed bricks in the Forbidden City. The tour truly brought out the essence of the Forbidden City, and I gained so much knowledge, remembering historical facts I couldn't recall before. I completely forgot my fatigue and felt incredibly fulfilled. Trip.com also provided tickets to the Treasure Gallery, which was absolutely stunning.

Peter is punctual, and his English is very good, which made everything easy to follow for a non-Chinese speaking audience. Peter is an interesting and friendly guide who didn't just point at buildings: he gave us a deep dive into Chinese culture and philosophy. It really helped me understand the deep meanings behind the visual symbols you see everywhere in the Forbidden City
Please pay attention this is a very big walking tour. The Forbidden City is actually huge, and once you finish there, you also walk through Jingshan Park. Prepare to walk a lot and wear comfortable shoes and clothes

I went in around 2pm from East gate to avoid the crowds. I should have alloted 4 hours or more to fully explore the area. There are several sections. It is best to book the Treasure Hall because it is less crowded and more opportunity for photo sessions. You can also rent traditional clothes near the East Gate before you start your trip and Exit at the East gate to return it. The Treasure Hall is also located at the East.

Bought tickets in advance for myself & partner. Booking was easy for us and just Passport to enter. Make sure passport details are entered correctly. Booked the morning session and was there at 8.45am to queue. Managed to enter the palace 9.30am. Yes, was 45mins of queuing time as 4 Apr is Saturday & Public Holiday. Security check were needed as we have bags. Those W/O bags who queued at the carry bags area were moved faster. If u r not carry any bag, do queue at the carry bag area as nearer to the entrance, there is a separate queue. Queue is faster than the original queueing area for no bag.) Overall good experience, but not to the queueing 🤣 Some people just cut our queue and pretend nothing happened though. Clock and Watches Museum is good to see. We didn't have much time to go and queue for Treasure Gallery as it was crowded as well. Oh well, we could see what is inside from the website. 🫰 Don't bring selfie stick as there is a limit to the length of it. Good luck and have fun!
