I visited Sant Pau Hospital on May 1, 2026. I hesitated about going in, but since I was there, I decided to book a same-day tour, and it was absolutely the right decision. The exterior is beautifully and impressively adorned with colorful decorations, but the interior is also much larger than I expected, and the ability to explore at a leisurely pace is a major draw. It's hard to believe it's a hospital, as the design attention to detail is so meticulous, creating a space that feels more like an art museum. There were relatively few people, allowing for a calm and enjoyable viewing experience, and with so many highlights, I was very satisfied. Furthermore, there are many photo spots where you can see the Sagrada Familia, making photography enjoyable as well. It's a highly recommended tourist destination where you can appreciate both architecture and scenic views.

San Paolo Hospital has fewer tourists than other Barcelona attractions, but its architecture is not inferior to Gaudi's series, and its architect is Gaudi's teacher. The architectural design is magnificent and definitely not like a hospital. The building complex covers a large area. Although not all of it is open to the public, it takes a lot of time to savor it.
