Review Neuschwanstein Castle Day Tour

I booked this particular tour with Klook because the other tour option had a meet up location that I wasn’t familiar with. For a little bit more $ we were able to see 3 locations and the meet up location was a 10 minute walk from our hotel. Upon showing up to the buses found out that this particular tour with Klook is actually on the VIP bus! The tour guide said the other buses had double the amount of people and more seats so less leg room. Our tour had maybe 20 people. There’s a whole snack table in the bus and the driver made coffee for everyone! They had a variety of packaged snacks, Bavarian pretzels, fruit, and water. Our tour guide Ursula was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic! She walks so fast! She had lots of great tips and showed us great spots to get awesome photos. Wish we had more time at Oberammergau. Our guide and driver had a nice Bavarian treat ready for us after the last part of our tour (don’t want to spoil it for people). Was an awesome tour - worth the time and $!

The overall itinerary is well managed in terms of time arrangement. The tour guide will introduce many historical and geographical background stories on the bus, so you will not feel bored even during the transportation. Tickets for the two palaces can be purchased directly from the tour guide on the bus (only cash can be paid). Basically, the same group will be assigned to one or two sessions of similar time to visit together. It is a pity that the meeting time is almost reached after the tour of Linderhof Palace, so we cannot spend too much time in the garden. In the afternoon, there is basically plenty of time for Neuschwanstein Castle. We can sit down and have lunch, and then go up and down the mountain as suggested by the tour guide (take the bus up the mountain and walk down the mountain). Overall, there is no feeling of rush. The tour guide this time, Elisabeth, is very enthusiastic and explains any questions in detail. It is a very wonderful journey.

This tour package was absolutely worth it! The itinerary was very well planned with sufficient time for each section. Our guide, Cansel, was excellent! She provided us with detailed recommendations such as lunch options with a print out of the menus of the restaurants in the area! She was knowledgeable about the history of the castles, Bavarian culture and entertained us with stories along the journey. She took really good care of us every step of the journey!

This trip exceeded all expectations! Ursula was an exceptional guide—her storytelling about King Ludwig II was captivating and brought so much depth to the journey. It’s truly amazing how having that rich historical background enhances the entire experience of castle visits.

A special shoutout as well to Vlady (I hope I got his name right), our barista and driver. The on-board snack bar was a lovely touch, with great coffee and delicious snacks that kept us energized when returning to the bus.

From start to finish, everything was seamless and enjoyable. I highly recommend booking this tour—you’ll walk away with beautiful memories and a deeper appreciation of the places you visit.

This time, I was looking for a tour to visit Neuschwanstein Castle and Wies Church during the cold season of January 2025, but I could only find tours in Chinese. However, my expectations were pleasantly exceeded as the Chinese people welcomed me, the only Japanese person there, and the guide in particular was very attentive and polite, making full use of Google Translate, and I enjoyed a very pleasant experience. Very well planned and amazing tour! The sights were great and definitely a must-see. Our guide, Pedro, was really informative and responsible. He was there to guide us at every step of the way and gave a lot of useful tips. Would recommend this to anyone

Our guide, Marine, was a cheerful and kind person. We had some extra time, so even though Oberammergau was just supposed to be a drive-through, she let us walk around the town for 30 minutes. It was a fun tour, even though it rained on and off.

The ticket price (37euro) and bus fare (3.50euro) to Neuschwanstein Castle aren’t included. But I’d definitely recommend joining the tour! The guides the castles are super informative, and you get plenty of time to look around. Plus, taking the tour bus makes things way easier, and you get to see two castles in one day(:

The driver and tour guide for the one-day tour were very friendly, provided a lot of information about the attractions, and were not a hard sell on what you wanted to buy. Remind you to enter Neuschwanstein Castle in advance and what precautions to take, etc. Another dinner suggestion!
